Trip to Mystic Aquarium Canceled
Dear UConn-Greater Hartford Community-
The Mystic Aquarium bus trip scheduled ( and advertised) since the first day of classes , has been canceled due to only 2 paid sign ups. Please understand that ASG ( the undergraduate Associated Student Government) needs to make difficult decisions about what risks to take, and in an effort to “cut their losses”, have canceled this trip.
If you see an activity or event you are interested in, please sign up ( and pay) for it as soon as possible. For fee paying students this trip was a $37-plus value, being subsidized by ASG to save each student over $17. In the next few weeks, ASG will have a suggestion box in the cafeteria- your opportunity to let them know what kinds of activities and events you would participate in. Please avail your selves to the opportunity to make suggestions.
Thanks.

DO YOU WANT TO TAKE PART IN ANY LEADERSHIP ROLES? DO YOU WANT TO HAVE A SAY IN YOUR SCHOOL? ...if so, become a SENATOR!
Dear Students, Starting from this week of welcome, Associated Student Government (ASG) will have election packets available for inquisitive individuals who want to make a difference at the Greater Hartford Campus. You can have the chance to become a leader, enhance the UCONN community, and share with us your valuable thoughts that may benefit the student body. Election Packets regarding Senator Positions will be accessible to all students downstairs during the week of welcome or upstairs on the third floor in the Gampel Room. **Elected senators will have to attend the weekly, mandatory meetings that will be held on Thursdays from 12:45-1:45 p.m.
YOU CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE! For further questions, contact the chairman of the elections committee via Stephen.Tao@uconn.edu
To get an updated petition to join ASG or to simply find out more about it, feel free to visit the Student Activities Office in the Gampel Student Center located in the Undergraduate Building here at UCONN GHC. There you can also find the ASG Executive office and Senators’ office where it is likely that you may run into one of the members themselves and get a chance to get to know them and learn about the great activities that they have in mind for the 2008-2009 academic year!
