Welcome to UConn Hartford

Velazquez

Our new, beautiful downtown campus offers students the unique opportunity to study at a top flagship research university while in the setting of a small college. With a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs, students can complete several and begin almost all of the university’s 110+ majors. Nationally ranked graduate programs are available through the School of Social Work, the School of Business, and the Department of Public Policy.

Blocks from the State Capitol and City Hall, UConn Hartford’s dynamic urban environment allows students to immerse themselves in collaborative activities with many educational, arts, business, and government partners. We share our neighborhood campus with the Hartford Public Library and the Wadsworth Atheneum: cultural, intellectual and community spaces that bring the university and city together in exciting and productive ways.

Integrating research, teaching, and community service, our distinguished faculty are engaged in innovative scholarship, analyzing critical issues in urban studies, education, social inequalities, business, public policy, and more. Our outstanding staff provide the full range of academic and student support services for our ambitious academic mission.

Bridging the global and the local, Hartford is a city of immigrants where people from around the United States and world have built communities and connections with their new country. In the midst of this global city, our diverse student body takes classes and participates in events that help them become leaders that understand and solve the transnational nature of the challenges and opportunities we face.

UConn’s return to Hartford brings together the university’s commitment to excellence in scholarship and teaching with a focus on collaborating with the communities in which we work and live. I invite you to UConn Hartford to learn with us in an academic community rich with resources and possibilities!
